New vehicle limit discussion.
Lets discuss the new mechanic and how it will benefit/hurt game play.
I agree that all the vehicles around the map are a huge drain on FPS and server performance, a solution is definitely needed.
First how I interpreted the changes.
1. Full vehicle wipe.
2. A new hard cap on total vehicles will be in place.
3. Rule change regarding not "griefing" bases by blowing up vehicles at a base. This is required otherwise the hard cap can be ruined by 1 hoarder. (still can if he has a hard to get to spot).
For me, the biggest problem I see with preventing vehicle spam this way is that helicopters become either the biggest pain in the ass to store (move a 2x2 or 3x3 or bigger roof, fly heli in, replace roof). Or they become impossible to keep and pointless to buy. They stated "you will have to defend your vehicles" but no one can play 24/7 and this server has players from all time zones, so the opposite time zones will have free reign on your base when you aren't on. if it costs me 50k to blow up any heli I want thats parked on a base or elsewhere, and people are now encouraged to blow up all vehicles they see, helis become a waste of money. They add another element to combat and pvp, but might disappear.
Adding a script that unlocks vehicles after 3 days and turns their lights on would be perfect. People could easily identify open vehicles, and sell them for profit. If they dont get sold by 5 days, delete them. This is a win win in my book.
One solution thats a hybrid between current and the new rule would be that a base gets to store 1 heli and 2 cars (maybe when Virtual garage is implemented scale this with the base radius?) lvl 1-3 radius = 1 heli 2 cars. 4-6 = 2 heli 4 cars, etc. Theres no way for people to see radius so this doesn't work as is, just a thought.
One addition that was brought up is a virtual garage. Might come in the near future. This fixes these problems and also helps with FPS i assume since they wont be loading in on the map unless being used.

I also vote for the script option.
But since most people already sold their vehicles, we might have to wait a couple of days for this. So until then, protect your rides boys! :D
Vehicles do need to be reduced but not in this way, I think if you could put a limit per player that would be ideal. At least then It could even feel like a tiered progression upgrading vehicles and keeping them safe etc.
